Transforming Society: From Zero to Self- Sustain

This project brought together by International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) is an integration of experiential learning, conservation of ecosystems, health and well-being of society, and economic empowerment.

Our mission is to transfer knowledge and skills on stingless bee smart farming to the communities to provide sustainability in financial, health and social aspects. We have successfully conducted the project in an urban city with a retirees' community and a low-income community. In the rural area, we conducted the project with the underprivileged community.

Throughout the execution of the project, we have witnessed amazing transformation in the community capacity and resilience building process. They embraced the golden chance to be self-sustaining, harmonising themselves with nature, and appreciating the balanced ecosystem. The journey of learning about the nature of stingless bees, their health benefits and practising new-found skills in breeding, harvesting, and packaging techniques to sustain stingless bee colonies have benefitted the well-being of the community as a whole.
