Pesona Tuba: Creating new hope for the Tuba Island community

Pesona Tuba is a community project that strives to empower members of the community through knowledge transfer. The project gives the Tuba Island community new hope for increasing side income and creating new job opportunities such as tour guides.

Why is this project being undertaken? Pulau Tuba is a beautiful island with abundant wildlife, flora, and fauna, as well as an eco-tourism destination located 5 kilometres south of Jeti Kuah on the island of Langkawi. Pulau Tuba has the potential to become a seafaring destination alongside Pulau Langkawi. However, there is no platform and limitation on promoting Tuba Island as a tourist destination, and lacking community knowledge and skills to promote Tuba Island as a tourism attraction.

This project promotes Pulau Tuba, Langkawi, Malaysia as an international tourism destination by integrating various disciplines involving academics and non-academics. With the collaboration of government agencies and industry, the Quadruple Helix concept was used to assure the project's sustainability.
