Finalist

University of Highlands and Islands

My role in student engagement has provided me with a great opportunity to develop environment and sustainability related projects and events, in response to students’ identifying it as a priority area for University of Highlands and Islands (UHI).

I set up and launched a UHI Green Champions Network, creating a community of students and staff who could champion the cause and help create change, not only at UHI but in their own communities and personal lives too.

I have also led on the coordination of the UHI Green Week in partnership with our Students’ Association, created a Green Resources Hub to access information and guidance, and established the Sustainability Sessions – an online seminar series with guest speakers.

Through these initiatives I aim to provide as much opportunity as possible to raise awareness and educate ourselves in climate change and sustainable living, whilst creating an inclusive space for students and staff to have their voices heard.
