SEEDABLE: Graduates that will create a sustainable future

Humanity faces complex, multidisciplinary challenges from climate change, inequalities in food supply, health, wellbeing, and education. SEEDABLE (Sustainability, Enterprise, Equality and Diversity, through Active and Blended Learning) a four year project takes a whole-institution approach to embed the SEEDABLE principles into the Curriculum. Students need to be deeply aware of these issues, their interconnectedness and supported to develop competencies that will facilitate multifaceted innovative solutions to these issues.

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs) are key to allow teaching teams to engage with the process - our courses are concerned in part with the environment but are not specifically linked to UNSDGs or the competencies required to produce sustainable solutions.

The SEEDABLE project embeds the UNSDG’s into all programmes with a teaching and learning focus on building the competencies to create sustainable solutions.

What the Judges Thought

A good response to the first stage feedback. The judges liked the diversity and clear ambition of the approach. Embedded in the curriculum is positive. Replicable and applicable.
