"After a very successful start to our partnership with the International Green Gown Awards last year, we are looking forward to seeing even more innovative projects and ideas from universities and colleges in 2023 on how to tackle global sustainability challenges. In particular, we are excited by the addition of the two new categories to address the crisis in biodiversity and the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion. Biodiversity is becoming a major theme for financial institutions, and we are glad to see the higher education sector also coming together through the UN-backed Nature Positive Universities Alliance to play its part. Equally importantly, we must cultivate a mindset that every one of us is a stakeholder in our future and the importance of providing and promoting equal opportunities for all."
Recognising exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken by the world's universities and colleges, the International Green Gown Awards set the bar and put every learning institution at the heart of delivering the UN Global Goals.
We are delighted to be working in partnership with The Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), L’Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF), International Association of Universities (IAU) and the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI).

The International Green Gown Awards are administered by EAUC.
Students and universities are full of world-changing sustainability ideas, but for too long their Award-winning solutions to the climate and environmental crisis have been ignored.
Help us to get the word out and globally scale their brilliance.
We believe in students and the power of education and the International Green Gown Awards help identify the best ideas and encourage others to take action. The Awards are UN recognised but we don't get any funding to run them. That is why we need your help.
By donating you will help the International Green Gown Awards to recognise and scale more of the exceptional sustainability initiatives being undertaken around the globe, many of which will, contribute to how the world builds back better from the Covid-19 pandemic.
